Dexcom's Stelo is the OTC glucose biosensor that started the over-the-counter CGM category — no prescription, no insurance paperwork. It comes in three purchase models at three effective prices. This page breaks down exactly what each plan costs and who each one suits.

Stelo costs $99 for a one-time 2-pack (two sensors, up to 15 days each — about a month of wear), $89/month on subscription (10% savings), or $252 per 3-month shipment (~15% savings). No prescription needed, and it's HSA/FSA eligible. Prices per stelo.com, July 2026.
| Plan | Price | Effective monthly | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-time 2-pack | $99 | $99 | Trying CGM for the first time; occasional experiments |
| Monthly subscription | $89/month | $89 | Continuous wear — the default choice |
| 3-month plan | $252/quarter | $84 | Committed users wanting the lowest per-sensor price |
Each Stelo sensor is worn up to 15 days, so a 2-pack covers roughly 30 days. The subscription auto-ships two sensors every 30 days and can be paused or canceled. A 2-week single-sensor entry option has been offered from $55 — useful as a first taste, but the per-day cost is higher than any 2-pack route.
Subscription and one-time options, HSA/FSA eligible.
Stelo is HSA/FSA eligible, which effectively discounts it by your marginal tax rate if you have one of these accounts. For a subscriber paying $89/month, that is commonly a 20–35% real-cost reduction — worth more than any coupon. Insurance, by contrast, generally does not cover Stelo since it's an OTC wellness product; if you have diabetes and use insulin, a prescription CGM through insurance is usually the cheaper and more appropriate route — see our CGM insurance coverage guide.
| Device | Typical monthly cost | Sensor wear | Published MARD |

| Dexcom Stelo | $84–99 depending on plan | Up to 15 days | 8.7% |
On pure price the two OTC leaders are close; the differences that decide it are app philosophy and accuracy — covered in depth in our Stelo vs Lingo comparison and full Stelo review.
